An update to Some Atlanta restaurants requiring proof of vaccination
(ATLANTA, Ga.) Atlanta is one of the latest cities to have restaurants operate with a "no vax, no service" policy to customers. While it was beginning to circulate that many of the city's dining establishments would take on newer COVID-19 precaution measures, some eateries are releasing statements on their latest decision.
Of course, patrons are not required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, however, the restaurant has the right to refuse service. The decision comes about as the new Delta variant causes temporary closures, breakthrough cases and a surge in new COVID cases.
Currently, places in the East Atlanta area have released statements on their policies and how they intend on servicing customers moving forward.
Argosy
Argosy was the first restaurant in the city to announce its “no vax, no service” policy after four vaccinated employees including a co-owner tested positive for COVID-19.
Customers are asked to carry proof of vaccination — either the original copy or a digital version and show it upon request. Vaccination is required whether customers are indoors or outside.
Banshee
Following Argosy’s lead, Banshee’s proof of vaccination policy went into effect Aug. 3 and requires customers to show proof upon request.
City Winery
Located in Ponce City Market, the restaurant and live music venue is requiring proof of a vaccination card or proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entry.
For customers unable to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, City Winery will provide rapid COVID-19 tests on-site for $15.
OK Yaki
Recently opened, the Japanese restaurant will require proof of vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test or a positive antibody test.
