Fantastic Philanthropy: Speedway Children’s Charities

Hey y’all! It has been awhile since I spotlighted a charity that I love.  This specific charity holds a spot near and dear to my heart.  I worked for them several years ago and I can tell you the people (volunteers and employees) are some of the most fantastic people you will EVER meet.

If you remember, one of my new years resolutions is to volunteer more and I am excited to say that I am going to help spearhead a Young Professionals group for the local Texas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

Why do I love SCC? Here is a little about the organization straight from their website.

The mission of Speedway Children’s Charities remains true to the ideals it was founded upon in 1982: To care for children in educational, financial, social and medical need in order to help them lead productive lives.

Since 1997, Speedway Children’s Charities at Texas Motor Speedway has distributed more than $10.2  million in funding to non-profit organizations in North Texas supporting children in need. The funds distributed by Speedway Children’s Charities are raised through special events held throughout the year. Most of Speedway Children’s Charities events are geared around the three major race weeks at Texas Motor Speedway.

Speedway Children’s Charities could fill the grandstands at Texas Motor Speedway 16 times with the number of children we have helped since 1997.  Our reach is far, and the dollars we raise go to directly helping children in our community.

Children’s organizations in Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties are eligible to apply for the Speedway Children’s Charities’ annual Founders and Partner Grants. Qualified applicants must directly fulfill needs of children in our area and be a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

This group has raised money that TREMENDOUSLY helps the local Texas community and specifically KIDS! I love the cause and I love the people!

Party at Pinstripes

We can’t believe Tripp is a big FIVE year old. He was so excited to finally celebrate with a big boy birthday party, He LOVES bowling and couldn’t wait to have his friends come toPinstripes. I was excited to have a party that wasn’t at our house. It was so nice to easily choose the menu, balloons and just bring in decor to the facility. Pinstripes staff made the birthday planning and party so easy and fun. Tripp absolutely loved his Party at Pinstripes.

Funky Town Fridge

I am excited to be able to show case a great way to give backto our community. If you have been here awhile you know I love showcasing great philanthropies within our community. Over the past few months I have fallen in love with a new local organization. In working with Toyota we were gifted $200 to donate products to a women owned business or non profit in the area that supports both. For this project I chose Funky Town Fridge.

Main Event

Over Spring break we took the kids in a fun little adventure in town since we didn’t do any traveling. We decided to give Main Event a try for the first time with them. Our kids are ages 4 (almost 5) and 2.5. It can be really challenging to find good activities for both of them and we not only found that but found something enjoyable for my husband and me too! I am so excited to be partnering with Main Event to share our experience with them.

Keeks Handbags

The other day I had the chance to finally visit Keeks Handbags. If you know me you know I love luxury fashion. I love saving up for a fun purchase and found out about Keeks Handbags through a few mutual bloggers and I knew I had to go. If you are in DFW you should take the time to check out their 10,000 square foot store. Even if you aren’t in DFW everything is listed on their online store. What my family is reading

Lately, I have really gotten back into reading. I’m not sure if anyone else is like me but depending on life and what shows I am binge watching can effect how often I am reading. Over the past year I have found setting reading goals has really improved making sure I sit down and read more often. My kids also love to read. Tripp is learning to read and it is such a cute stage of childhood. My husband on the other hand is big on auditable because he loves to listen to “books on tape” I thought I would put together a list of what my family is reading!

The other day Tripp and I went on a little adventure to help give back to our community. If you have been around awhile you know I love showcasing ways to help others especially within the local community. When given the opportunity to partner with RITZ on their Lunch Goes On campaign I jumped at the chance to be involved. 2020 Best Sellers

Over the last several months I started recapping my monthly best sellers. I think we can all agree that shopping in 2020 totally changed. You had to up your online game but it became easier to find great deals in my opinion. Shopping behavior changed but I think overall my best sellers reflect so many items that most people are interested in… especially moms. Wee Baby Stella Doll For Big Brother

We were so excited for Tripp to become a big brother. I had been researching ways to help kiddos with the transition of a new baby. One thing that resonated with me was having a “baby” for the big sibling to “help” do things with when you need to tend to the baby. Tripp is ALL about helping and having responsibilities these days so I thought a baby of his own would be perfect.
