You’ll be spreading this deliciously creamy Whole30 Mayo on everything! Only five ingredients and SO easy to make!


Just going to put it out there.

This is the hardest easiest recipe that you will ever make. Let me explain.

It’s the easiest in the sense that it has minimal ingredients that you probably already have,

But the hardest in the sense that if you do not add the oil DROP BY DROP (sooooo slow) then the recipe will not work and you will have runny mayo.

Consider yourself warned.

Who doesn’t love a generous amount of mayo to spread on some fresh bread when fixing up a sandwich? The right sauces can really make or break a sandwich and mayo is just one of those staples that I can’t live without! Today’s whole30 approved mayo is such a game changer because it’s a homemade, better-for-you version of your favorite store bought spread! It uses only a handful of ingredients that I’ll bet you already have on hand in your kitchen so the question isn’t WHY, it’s most definitely WHY NOT?! Last but not least, it’s also INCREDIBLY easy to whip up which makes me wonder why it took me this long to make my own!

How to make Homemade Whole30 Mayo


Place the egg in a large food processor and blend on high for about 30 seconds.


Into the egg, add the lemon juice, mustard and salt and continue processing the mixture for another 30 seconds or so.


With the food processor running, you’re now going to add the oil. Be VERY careful to only add one drop at a time so that it doesn’t turn out runny! Once you’ve added ¼ cup of the oil one drop at a time, stream in the rest of the oil slowly until you’ve used it all up.


Spread on whatever you desire and enjoy!

Whole30 Mayo Top Tips for making

Drop in the oil: It’s VERY important that for the first ¼ cup of avocado oil, you only add in one drop at a time. If you stream it in all at once, the mayo will end up being runny as it will not have had the chance to slowly thicken up! Be sure to not skip this very important step.

Use fresh lemon juice: Although it may be tempting to use a bottle of lemon juice from the store, you will get the best results if you use fresh squeezed and the flavor will be that much better!

Recipe Variations

I always encourage mixing things up to keep ingredientsfun and mealtimes anything but boring! Here are a few ways to switch things up in this homemade mayo paleo:

Add Garlic: Because how amazing would that be? Feel free to mince up some garlic and throw it in the food processor when you add the lemon juice and mustard!

Spices: Smoked paprika would be absolutely AMAZING in this mayo! Add some in for some fun smoky flavor.

Add Heat: If you’re looking to give this mayo a bit of a kick, feel free to add in a squirt of sriracha sauce or a few drops of hot sauce!

Lime Juice and Cilantro: Fresh herbs and citrus juice are always a good idea!

How to use Whole30 Mayo Recipe

Ok, now that we’re done making the mayo (wasn’t that SO easy??), it’s time to enjoy it! This mayo would be delish on any of your favorite sandwiches. It would be the perfect addition to a cottage cheese sandwich or a superfood greek yogurt chicken salad sandwich! Or smother it on your slow cooker pulled pork sandwich and you will be SO glad you did!

How long can you keep Fresh Mayonnaise?

Stored properly in the fridge, this tasty homemade mayo will last well and remain fresh for up to 2 weeks, so there is no rush to finish it all up right away.

  • 1 Egg
