Trevor Penning Draft Profile
Trevor Penning is a mauler. He is a mean, tough, old-school type of offensive lineman that has the mentality that every winning offensive line needs. When asked to describe his style of play in three words, Penning said, “Physical. Nasty. Prick.” It's tough to describe him any better than that.
He's physical, already has the build of an NFL tackle, and he will be elite in the running game. Penning is a bulldozer. While he played left tackle at Northern Iowa, he shows the ability to play on either side in the NFL.
Of course, the easiest weakness for players like Penning will always be the level of competition. No, he did not play against the best at Northern Iowa, obviously. Penning also has the tendency to get a bit too high in his pass protection and, while he is athletic, gets a bit off-balance in the open field.
