The Women’s super-welterweight Unification Fight For Claressa Shields and Marie-Eve Dicaire meet at Dort Financial Center in Flint, Mich., Friday. Shields (10-0, 2 KOs) has been out of action since January 2020, when she beat Ivana Habazin at 154 lbs by unanimous decision to win the WBC and WBO junior middleweight titles. Standing in her way is Dicaire (17-0), the IBF titleholder who is coming off an even more extended layoff. The 34-year-old Canadian last stepped in the ring in November 2019.
The fight between Shields and Dicaire is special and highly intriguing in its own way. Both the pugilists possess undefeated records, and somebody’s precious ‘O’ has got to go in this contest. Moreover, a win will determine the best female boxer in the super-welterweight landscape.
Coverage of the main card is set to start at 9:00 p.m. ET and ring walks for the main event are expected at approximately 11:30 p.m. That will depend on the length of the undercard. The fight is available via PPV on cable outlets, and will also be streamed on FITE.tv. The card will cost $29.99.
