It has been a great Spring so far in Central Florida if you ask us. The weather has been great so far and people from all over appear to be taking advantage of everything Orlando has to offer.

Universal Studios however has already looked past Spring and Summer, in fact they have us focused on Fall and Halloween! While some of the workers and guests at Universal are dressed up during what looks to be a very festive Mardi Gras celebration, we just saw the official website for Halloween Horror Nights Orlando 2022 | Universal Orlando has just announced the dates and prices to the public!

What to expect - A good time and possibly to scream, maybe both. This year you can expect Universal plans on going big once again! We noted the following 6 items to get excited about.

  • 10 Haunted Houses inspired by big names in horror and a couple of Universal's own designs.
  • 5 Sinister Scare Zones which feature scareactors so do not let your guard down.
  • 2 Live Shows that are built to bring the scare back down to a manageable level.
  • Themed Food and Drinks (cocktails!) that enhance the Haunted House theming, I am not scared of that at all!
  • Universal Halloween Horror Nights themed merchandise will be available
  • Last but never least, Universal attractions/rides will be available and potentially haunted by good times.

Halloween Horror Nights are typically very well attended and a sought after ticket add on for many adult guests. While looking at the ticket details, there are warnings this event may be too intense for children, and it is not recommended for anyone under the age of 13 to attend. It is a separate admission cost and is non-refundable. Just in case you were wondering, costumes and costume masks are not permitted. It is also important to note, this is a rain or shine event. If you have determined the nighttime event may be too scary or perhaps you have a thirst to know how it works, Universal is offering the Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror Tour - it will take you to 3 or 6 haunted houses during the daytime starting at $79.99; alternatively they also have a tour available to thrust you directly into the scare. Take a look at the R.I.P. tour and it's priority access to the haunted house experience. The price is where the scare begins as it starts at $249.99, yikes!

Gather all the gory details and purchase tickets here on Universal Studios direct website Halloween Horror Nights Orlando 2022 | Universal Orlando

Another way to enjoy your immersive experience is to take advantage of some savings that are available to stay on property. If you play your dates right with a 7-day stay, you may be able to take a cool $200 bucks in savings in the process. Savings actually begin at 2-day trips and peak at 7 or more-day trips according to the Universal Studios website as of the printing of this article. You will also be able to add the tour packages into this trip package. Thankfully, Universal has made it extremely easy to plan; price and book by visiting the HHN Hotel And Ticket Package | Universal Orlando Resort™ offerings. Warning, these savings are available now until May 5th, 2022.

As mentioned earlier, Halloween Horror Nights historically have been very sought after and will sell out. Make sure you plan appropriately to ensure you are able to maximize your experience and gain access to every scare you are looking forward to.

The Family Owned & Operated Distillery of South Carolina - The Charleston Distilling Company

Recently we had the pleasure of spending time in Charleston, South Carolina and enjoyed a lot of the typical activities one might look forward to on a relaxing weekend alongside the historical charm of the downtown area. In spite of all of the history and ghost tours, we found Charleston to be very much alive with plenty of sites to see, friendly people and experiences for all ages, as well as a thriving culinary scene. It goes without saying, to us, a great culinary scene makes any trip that much more enjoyable. We, like many others, who are visiting areas outside of our normal day-to-day lives did a little research before traveling and had a good idea of all of the things we wanted to see as we headed out the door on our journey. As luck would have it on our trip, we had outstanding weather and the added luxury of lower crowds than expected. Ultimately this combination allowed us to explore downtown Charleston pretty thoroughly and enjoyably, at least according to our makeshift itinerary and expectations. The great weather really allowed us to spend more time outdoors checking off items on the list and also exploring outside of the downtown area. This enabled us to do some more of the short trips we had hoped to squeeze in if other attractions were unavailable.
