If you are still looking for something to do for Valentine's Day that is not going to break the bank and is not directly related to a restaurant, don't worry, you are not alone. However, taking a quick survey of the options, the answer may lie in nearby Clermont, at one of our favorite spots to hang out.
The Lakeridge Winery opened in 1989 and they have been open in the hills of Clermont ever since. Of course, wine and friends make a lot of us happy, but with Valentine's Day looming we were looking to find great options to either reconnect with your partner or the wine glass in your hand, either way everyone wins! We have collected some helpful hints and ideas below.
First let's tell you where the fun begins -
The Lakeridge Winery is located at 19239 U.S. 27 North, Clermont Florida 34715 and is open 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday and Sundays 11am-5pm. Last tours leave at 4pm!
Every trip to the winery usually revolves around the tasting of all the wines. The easiest way to do this is through one of the complimentary tours featuring a 10-minute video and a short walking tour where you will learn about Lakeridge's history and techniques culminating with a fully guided wine tasting. They do have Muscadine grape juice for those who wish to participate but not imbibe at the bar. Just let them know they are happy to help. Please budget around 45 minutes from start to finish.
If you are looking for something a bit more exclusive no worries, Lakeridge has VIP Tour & Tasting specialty experiences which offers a more personalized and cozier ambience than the complimentary tour and tastings. You will get a dedicated Tour Guide for your added enjoyment. There are 3 different options, each one is $110 minimum, we highly recommend the "exclusive" level for a special day. Any of the 3 experiences are great for small groups celebrating a special occasion or for couples wanting something more intimate. Book here - Lakeridge Winery VIP Tours & Tasting
The winery also features a nice gift shop that of course has all of the wines but also olive oils, cheeses, hot sauces, custom shirts, hats, cork cages and puller amongst tons of other stuff. They will also help build gift baskets as well for a nice surprise. Maybe you could bring a blanket and setup a picnic outside if the provided seating is full or not your thing.
Lakeridge Winery has a nice refreshing pink sparkling wine called Pink Crescendo. Inside of the glass it is serving up lots of fruit, firm acidity and long aftertaste. The pink color in the glass and easy drinking makes it a delight for special occasions, try it with a rich dessert or chocolate covered strawberries! A bottle will only set you back $19.99 which isn't bad at all. This weekend they are also will be doing 25% off up to 2 cases of Southern Red, and 30% off 3 cases. Each case is 12 bottles.
With all of this in mind it's also worth mentioning more about the outdoor area. Outside you will find the Florida hill country, hopefully view of grapes and green grass and the most important features, a bar with wine, beer and soft drinks. Weekends at Winery will also feature live entertainment and a mini food court with revolving options. A quick check of the weather shows that this Saturday the 12th features the best weather to take advantage of the patio with an expected high of nearly 80 degrees! Twistee Treat and Cheeses will also be available this Saturday. Wines by the glass range from $6 to $11, Wine Slushies are $6 and all beers are just $4! If you are looking for non alcoholic options water and soda are $2 a piece.
Assorted Meat and Cheese trays are $13, and finally assorted chips, crackers and nuts will run from $2 - $5.
And there you have it, a Valentine's Day weekend spot or any other weekend fun in the future all wrapped up in one location. I don't know if you will find love at the winery, but make sure you bring your government issued ID and you will find the wine and at least we have that going for us. Please feel free to take as many photos as you like and tag them with #Buzzwithyourcuz on your favorite platforms.
