Superfan Carrie Underwood announced she'll be opening for her favorite rock band, Guns N' Roses Tour! The country singer is super excited to join Guns N' Roses 2023 Global Tour as one of the opening acts. She is currently scheduled to join Guns N' Roses for three shows on their 2023 North American tour in August, 2023. Will she be adding more dates?
According to Taste Of Country "While they might seem like an unlikely pairing, the two acts have shared the stage on several prior occasions. Underwood was a surprise guest during Guns N' Roses' London tour stop in July 2022, and the country star brought out Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose during her Stage coach set that same year. Underwood has long been vocal about her love of Guns N' Roses and rock in general; she brought Joan Jett to the stage during her 2019 CMA Fest performance to perform a medley of Jett's hits. When she first performed with Rose at Stagecoach, Underwood said that duetting with the rock legend was a "lifelong dream come true."
Carrie Underwood announced to her fans the exciting news on social media "SO ready for this! I’m joining @gunsnroses for select dates on their North American Tour in August and I CANNOT WAIT!! 🤘
Other opening acts joining the Guns N' Roses tour are Alice in Chains, The Pretenders, The Warning and Dirty Honey will perform.
"Carrie Underwood is a singer who rose to super-stardom after winning the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Underwood's single "Inside Your Heaven" made her the only country artist to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the only solo country artist in the 2000s to have a number-one song on the Hot 100. Her debut album, Some Hearts (2005), was bolstered by the successful crossover singles "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats", becoming the best-selling solo female debut album in country music history. She won three Grammy Awards for the album, including Best New Artist," according to Wikipedia.
