The Food Network's Guy Fieri is one of America’s most beloved celebrity chefs and TV personalities and he enjoys sharing the foodies gems he finds across the country.
If you're looking to take a trip to one of Guy Fieri's favorite places, he recommends you check out a Venezuelan restaurant in Fairfield County Connecticut that is one of his favorite eateries in the state called Valencia Luncheria.
According to WTNH "Flavortown food critic Guy Fieri, known for his flaming shirts, shades, and spikey hair, has been a household staple for years. Arguably his most popular show, “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives“, showcases the energetic cook trying out some of the best local hot spots around the country. The show is currently in its 42nd season, and it’s estimated Fieri has been to over 1,250 restaurants so far. And with every episode, we at home sit and stare at some of the most delicious dishes we can imagine."
Though it's far away from South America, the Nutmeg State is home to some incredible Venezelan food, thanks to the zesty, upbeat and trendy Valencia Luncheria. This beautiful restaurant, located in coastal Norwalk, Connecticut is run by the passionate and highly seasoned Chef Michael and is known for its wide variety of unique dishes; arepas and empanadas, along with a variety of other traditional latino dishes.
According to the Food Network website "Valencia Luncheria took Guy by surprise, as he'd never had the Venezuelan tortilla called an arepa. The thick tortilla gets fried and then stuffed with both savory and sweet fillings. Think roasted pork shoulder, tender shredded chicken, ceviche and even Nutella and cream cheese. Special Dishes include; Pernil Arepa (Pork Venezuelan Pocket Sandwich), The Morning After, Strong Island, Red Smitty"
