Check out JUltimateFisherman!! And Thuy! Fishing 24/7 on YouTube! Thuy called me and said he had an opportunity to fish the Shad run in Sacramento. I said yes even though I thought shad was this tiny baitfish. When I asked him how to cook them if they are so tiny, he said they are actually fairly large. I didn't understand until I googled them. They are around 2lbs! Mind blown. So, I went to pick up Thuy at 5am and we drove the 2 hours up to Sacramento to meet John. He's a super nice guy, really happy we got to meet. Shad fishing is somewhat similar to the crappie fishing I did in my last catch and cook, although this one is less casting and jigging. I kept losing fish because I think I was reeling too hard. But I eventually did get the hang of it. People around us were limiting out, current limit is 25 fish each. So they were getting 50+. We didn't do quite as well as them.
