[VIDEO] West Haven, CT Firefighters battle 2 alarm house fire during heat wave.

WEST HAVEN, CT - At approximately 2:55pm on July 29, 2023, the West Haven Fire Department received multiple calls for a house fire near the water at 505 Ocean Ave. The West Haven fireboat also reporting seeing a column of smoke showing from the distance. A 2nd alarm was called when members arrived to heavy fire showing from a 2 story private dwelling. At one point, firefighters were called to evacuate the structure and commence a defensive attack. Two residents were accounted for, but at the time of this writing two cats are still missing. One firefighter also sustained minor injuries. Members also had to battle extreme temps due to the week long heat wave pummeling the area.
