43-year-old doting mom Jennifer Brown lived in Royersford, Pennsylvania, with her 8-year-old son, Noah. Loved ones described Jennifer as a devoted mother who adored her son, and never would have abandoned him, so it came as a shock to all when she suddenly vanished on January 3, 2023.

On January 4, the authorities conducted a welfare check at Jennifer’s home but no one answered the door. An officer made his way inside through an open kitchen window. There were no signs of a disturbance and all her personal belongings were left behind, with the exception of her cell phone.

Jennifer herself was nowhere to be found.

That morning, Noah showed up to school distraught and disheveled. He took medication daily for autism but had already missed two doses and began acting out in class. When Noah’s teacher asked him what was wrong, he stated, “My mommy went to the grocery store and never came back.”

Jennifer always dropped Noah off at the school bus stop and picked him up but that particular day was different. Noah told his teacher that “Mr. Blair” picked him up on January 3 and told him they were going to have a sleepover at his house because his mom was busy at the supermarket.

Mr. Blair referred to 33-year-old chef, and father of three, Blair Anthony Watts, a close friend of Jennifer’s and her former business partner.

Meanwhile, loved ones pleaded with the public to come forward with any information regarding Jennifer’s disappearance. What ensued was an intense search that lasted 14 excruciating days, only to end in devastation.

On January 18, two warehouse employees went out back for a smoke break and noticed a freshly dug hole. Inside was a human body, partially covered with pallets of wood and dirt. The remains belonged to Jennifer. An autopsy determined that she had three broken ribs and bite marks on her tongue. The cause of death was deemed a homicide by unspecified means.

Thanks to Jennifer’s 8-year-old son, Noah, investigators would soon learn that the real killer had been right in front of them all along.

After learning of Jennifer’s murder on the news, Noah’s teacher contacted the authorities. Noah told them that Blair drove him home but told him to wait in the car while he went inside with a key. When he returned, he was holding Jennifer’s cell phone. Noah said he knew it was his mom’s phone because her wallpaper was set to a photo of him in the second grade.

Blair once owned a restaurant named Birdie’s Kitchen that ultimately closed down. He turned to Jennifer for help and she agreed to invest $14,000 in the company. They found a new location and planned to re-open Birdie’s Kitchen by January 2023 but Blair never paid the property owners any money or signed a lease. He secretly blew the money instead.

On December 26, 2022, the owners revoked the lease after waiting over a year for payment. On January 3, Blair allegedly murdered Jennifer in her home and buried her behind the warehouse. Using her iPad, he transferred $17,000 from her bank account to his own. The next day, he showed up unannounced with the money but the property owners told him to leave.

Blair lived with his wife and their three young children, ages 9, 7, and 3. After callously killing his mother, Blair picked Noah up and took him back to his home. He left all four children unattended overnight. While his wife was working the night shift, Blair was with his mistress. He returned home before his wife, took the children to school, and reported Jennifer missing.

Blair played the part of a concerned friend and joined the search along with Jennifer’s mother, Anita, and her best friend, Tiffany, all the while knowing the truth. He even sent texts from Jennifer’s phone to himself, pretending to be upset and disoriented. Her phone remains missing.

Cadaver dogs detected the scent of human remains in Jennifer’s kitchen and Blair’s car. Their cell phones traveled together from her home to where her body was later found and her house keys were found in Blair’s home.

On February 8, Blair was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, third-degree murder, and theft. He is being held in Montgomery County Prison without bail.
