On June 28 at 3:08 in the morning, Aaron B. Wright allegedly drove to his ex-wife Andrea Wright's home near Memorial Falls Drive in Harris County, Texas with his new girlfriend. He reportedly accessed a unlocked power box and cut off the electricity to the home before disabling the alarm and breaking into the house through a back window. Inside was Andrea and their four children, ages 7, 9, 11 and 13, asleep in their beds.

Aaron allegedly shot Andrea four times and fled on foot with his girlfriend. He was arrested a short time later and was charged with aggravated assault. His girlfriend has not been charged with any crime as of yet.

Andrea is currently in stable condition recovering in the hospital and has already undergone surgery on her leg. None of the children were harmed. Two fled the home during the attack and were taken in by neighbours who called the police.

The attack came just hours before the pair were to attend a child custody hearing. Authorities say Aaron feared losing custody.

According to Andrea's loved ones, the couple had been in a long-term tumultuous relationship which ended in a bitter divorce nearly two years ago to the day Aaron allegedly attacked her. Aaron had been stalking and harrassing Andrea ever since the divorce became finalized. The police had been called to Andrea's home sixteen times since 2019 after Aaron threatened to harm her as well as her boyfriend. A protective order was denied just before the attack.

A gofund me can be located here to help cover Andrea's medical expenses. Her four children are safe and living with their grandmother.

Shortly after his appearance in court, Aaron was released on a $175,000 bond and has been ordered to wear a GPS tracker and stay 200 feet away from Andrea's home.

He denies opening fire at his ex-wife claiming he would, "never do anything like that, ever." However, a surveillance camera allegedly captured him running away from the scene of the crime with his girlfriend.
