Our Vlog of Hiking Up Pikes Peak. Two Okies enjoying and struggling our way up America’s Mountain.

This was our first ever 14er. It was beautiful, fun, miserable, and crazy, but a fulfilling adventure overall. Being a couple from Oklahoma we weren’t used to the elevation but we drank plenty of water and took our time to avoid any altitude sickness. The longest hike we had ever done before this was over 6 years ago a when we hiked 5.7 miles in Arkansas at Hemmed in Hollow which was only 1414ft in elevation gain. More recently we have hiked a local hill in Tulsa. (Turkey Mountain) topping out at 771ft in elevation gain. Both are nothing compared to this hike. I wish we had prepared more training wise, but thankful we prepared gear wise. I hope you enjoy the video. Feel free to leave any questions or comments.
