Honestly, everyday when some horrible story comes out in the Virginia Beach news, I don't think I can become any more surprised by what I learn, and then I'm proven wrong. Like today. Virginia Beach Police are on the look out for the man who decided to rob Sun Trust Bank at Hilltop this morning.

VIrginia Beach dispatchers learned of the bank robbery from a report at 9:23 a.m from Sun Trust Bank located at 711 First Colonial Road in Virginia Beach. According to an investigation, the man came inside the bank, held up a gun and told an employee to give him cash. Eventually, after receiving the money, the man fled the scene in a get-away vehicle close by the bank. Thankfully, Virginia Beach police said there were no injuries during the robbery.

If anyone has information about the suspect, Virginia Beach PD is asking people to step forward and give Virginia Beach Crime Solvers a call at 1-888-562-5887 with your tips. Information can also be sent in online at Anyone who gives a tip that leads to an arrest could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000, Virginia Beach PD says.

I have faith in the Virginia Beach police department and know the man will be caught soon, but it is disgusting so much crime is happening around town. With the horrible shootings at the Oceanfront leaving two people dead and eight injured, the hit-and-runs, it's concerning going out anymore.

Virginia Beach is a beautiful place to live (rated #99 of best places to live according to U.S. News Real Estate). The crime average is also lower than normal, but still, horrible things keep happening. I understand this is the way of the world, but Virginia Beach, we owe it to ourselves to not be garbage humans.

I hope the suspect is caught soon. Police have included photos of the suspect.

What are your thoughts about the robbery?
