Last weekend we traveled through Huber Heights, Ohio, for the annual community garage sales. This weekend we'll make three stops, in my favorite county! We lived in Greene county for 20 years before relocating to Montgomery. I narrowed it down to three sales, that would most definitely worth your time.

Multi- family yard sales are organized by a host and have multiple family selling items. I'm going to share a few reminders for attending a multi-family yard sale.

  • Usually there is one place to pay, so you won't have to search for the sellers. I've seen them set up multiple hosts at one long table. Just make sure you locate where to pay when you first arrive to the sale. Most of the time this is where they will hold your items while you continue to shop.
  • The inventory at these types of sales are large, which makes it more likely that you'll find what you're looking for; so they're great to attend.
  • Even when they advertise, it's impossible to list every item.
  • Be patient with the host, they are in charge of making sure each family is credited with their sales. The host keeps a tally of what sales and for how much.
  • The prices are usually marked beforehand, but it doesn't hurt to ask if they will go lower.
  • Bring someone with you, to keep you company and to help carry bigger items.

One last piece of advice, have fun and keep your creative eye open you'll never know what you'll find!
