Let’s learn about a girl who takes pride in staying not only kind to yourself, but dedicated to self improvement. Skyler Thurber, artist name S.K.Y., loves music but is extremely busy with life like the rest of us. Over the years, Skyler has learned to love and express herself through her music, stating that she “has grown to love and appreciate the raspiness and uniqueness” of her voice.

Considering this is her very first record, Skyler’s ability to freestyle harmonies and put words together is incredible. All the built up talent itching to come out of this 21 year old from Auburn CA is now beginning to shout and scream out. Though 6 plus years of professional modeling Skyler has a built a very supportive fan base for her to utilize when putting her music out. With an interesting upbringing tragic moments in Skyler’s life have really pushed her to become the artist she had always strived to be. Her freestyle ability comes from a close friend teaching and practicing with her day after day. In 2017 that close friend sadly passed away due to suicide which brought a heavy weight on her shoulders causing her to push music aside for a long time. More recently, in Sept 2020,

Skyler’s mother Echo Thurber passed away from a horrible disease only adding more for her to have to endure. EvenRights President, Laron Bailey, took interest in music from Skyler when he discovered her through her Instagram story . After approaching her with a single record strategy, Skyler hesitated but then grabbed the opportunity by the horns to create the record “Overtime” .

Working with engineer “Pete Rodriguez”, producer “Adrian Avendano”, along with Executive producer of the record “Laron Bailey”, and A&R partner “NaNa Love” gave Skyler the team and support that she needed. Skyler: “Music has been my passion since I was a little girl, there has never been anything I wanted more in life than to create music and be heard. Singing and writing allows me to express my feelings in a positive manor and hopefully impact others as well. Mental health is very important to me and if I can be a positive advocate for it, I’m going to be” .
