Kansas City, Mo. - When you think of careers that come with six-figure incomes, you likely think of professionals like doctors and lawyers.

While those professions do tend to pay competitive salaries, the Kansas City metro is actually home to a wide range of jobs that pay over $100,000 a year. And some of these professions don't even require a college degree.

1. CDL Truck Driver

Even though the average salary for a truck driver in the United States is around $72,000 a year, there are companies in the Kansas City area that pay CDL drivers six figures.

For example, both Sygma and Sysco have multiple CDL truck driver openings that pay $100,000 a year, in addition to sign-on bonuses and employee benefits.

These truck driving jobs require a CDL Class A license.

2. Tax Supervisor

Experienced tax accountants often earn six figures. In fact, CyberCoders is hiring to fill a remote tax supervisor position that pays up to $120,000 a year.

You do need an accounting degree and at least four years of tax experience.

3. Sales Rep

Professional sales is another career field that can come with a competitive salary, especially in Kansas City.

Platinum Supplemental Insurance is hiring a sales rep. The position pays up to $100,000 a year and comes with a four-day workweek. However, you do have to be willing and able to travel overnight during the week.

4. Outside Sales Supervisor

And speaking of six-figure sales jobs, again, Spectrum has a job opening for an outside sales supervisor that pays $100,000 a year.

Furthermore, the position comes with employee benefits like health insurance and a 401(k) plan.

5. Business Development Representative

Lima One Capital in Kansas City is hiring for a business development representative who can help the company grow its brand in a designated target market.

The job pays up to $200,000 a year and includes competitive benefits.

However, you do need to have at least a bachelor's degree, 2+ years of real estate experience, and, most importantly, have an extensive network of contacts that are either mortgage brokers or real estate partners.

6. Project Manager

Project managers are typically one of the highest paid professions within the construction industry.

Advastar has an opening for a construction project manager that pays up to $140,000 a year. The job also comes with benefits, including, health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

You do need to have a bachelor's degree in construction management and at least five years of previous experience.
