A bus filled with illegal immigrants from the Texas border has pulled up to the steps of the US Capitol in Washington, DC. This is an attempt by Governor Greg Abbott to bring attention to the crisis at the border. Abbott took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to call out President Joe Biden in part inviting him to, "come see the mess he's made at the border".

Texas Governor Greg Abbott made good on his promise to bus illegal immigrants to Washington, DC. The plan is to showcase the crisis at the Texas-Mexico border and put pressure on the Biden Administration to take action. "The Biden Administration's policies have created a humanitarian crisis at our southern border, and Texas is dealing with the consequences," Governor Abbott said in a statement. "I am committed to doing everything I can to address this crisis, and that includes bringing attention to it in our nation's capital." This is not the first time that Governor Abbott has taken Bold Action on the issue of immigration; in 2019, he deployed the Texas National Guard to the border.

Governor Abbott says he is committed to addressing the issue of illegal immigration, but his critics say that this is nothing more than a political stunt.

Critics of Governor Abbott have accused him of using the issue of busing illegal immigrants to Washington, DC as a political stunt. They argue that the move is designed to score points with his conservative base and drum up support for his reelection bid. Beto O'Rourke, one of Abbott's opponents in the gubernatorial race, has called the move "heartless" and "cruel." He argues that it does nothing to solve the larger problem of immigration reform and simply exposes vulnerable people to further harm. O'Rourke has pledged to work with both parties to find a humane solution to the issue if he is elected governor.

O'Rourke has taken issue with a number of his opponent's policies, and has recently stated, "Higher prices, more supply chain problems, fewer groceries and goods in our stores. Abbott is hurting the Texas economy."

In response to what he called Abbott's political stunt in Washington, O'Rourke stated, "We can elect a governor who cares more about people than politics".

It remains to be seen whether Abbott's actions will hurt or help him politically in the long run, but it is clear that the issue of immigration is not going away anytime soon.
