Cruz took to Twitter on Monday, sharing a barrage of information demanding answers from the Biden administration, ranging from border policies to gun control, inflation, and gas prices.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz says, "The #BidenBorderCrisis continues to spiral out of control. It’s a humanitarian, public health, and national security crisis."
Cruz goes on to state, "Joe Biden is still embracing catastrophic open borders policies."
The Texas Senator believes that the President is "not serious about actually solving the problem" and "all he wants to do is play politics."
Ted Cruz has been a vocal critic of the President's policies since he took office and has blamed him for the current border crisis. Cruz's tweet storm on Monday demanded answers from the Biden administration.
Is Cruz really looking for answers, or just pandering to his GOP base before another run for President in 2024?
Senator Cruz has been a big critic of the Biden administration, most recently over the handling of the southern border. In an interview with The Dispatch, Cruz said he was “very seriously” considering another presidential run in 2024.
“I think the country is headed in the wrong direction,” he said. “I think we need to change course, and I hope to be part of that change.”
When asked if he would primary President Donald Trump should he decide to run again, Cruz dodged the question.
“Donald Trump is a friend of mine, and I am not looking to get into a fight with him,” Cruz said. “But my focus right now is on 2022 and making sure we take back the House and the Senate.”
Cruz has been a reliable vote for former President Donald Trump, and was one of his staunchest defenders during Trump’s impeachment trial. The Texas senator also voted against certifying Biden’s Electoral College victory, a move that led to him being booed off-stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
The Texas Senator had a lot to share to Twitter on Monday.
On rising gas prices, Cruz stated, "Skyrocketing gas prices are the intended effect of President Biden’s radical Green New Deal policies".
The Texas Senator wasn't done there. Regarding gun control, he posted, "Democrats are trying to distract from the failure of gun control policies in Democrat-run cities. “Ghost gun” is a name intended to scare people. Cruz was referencing President Biden's "Fact Sheet" released on Monday which in part implements a ban on, "the business of manufacturing the most accessible ghost guns, such as unserialized “buy build shoot” kits that individuals can buy online or at a store without a background check and can readily assemble into a working firearm in as little as 30 minutes with equipment they have at home".
Cruz has been laying the groundwork for another presidential run, including hiring staff in early voting states, such as Iowa and New Hampshire. He has also been courting former Trump administration officials and other GOP lawmakers.
Senator Cruz is expected to decide on whether to run for president in 2024 by the end of the year. If he does decide to run, he will be joining a crowded field of Republicans who are already jockeying for position ahead of the next presidential election.
What do you think, Texas?
