If you haven’t been to Dion’s you’re missing out.

As I’ve previously written, I have recently gained the opportunity to collaborate with News Break to record and share video content as part of their video creator program. I’ve been busy hitting the streets and am currently working on bringing you all some fresh content. I’ve been writing for News Break since December of last year, and I’m excited about the opportunity to represent our local communities and share content regarding:

Lifestyle & current events. I’ll be posting videos about: Life, love, family, career, and style. A lot of times I’ll share a dad’s perspective because — well, that’s what I am.

I’ll be posting Interviews, and polls from our friends and neighbors about current events. The best parts of our communities, and include fun views of local tours, family-friendly spots, little known historic facts, paranormal tours and so on.

I’ll also do my best to cover local business and politics from the everyday man's perspective.

So far, it seems like the stories that I either write about, or post videos about food are the ones that people have been viewing and enjoying most of all. I guess the way to connect best with folks really is over some good food.

Here’s a look at the most recent video I’ve published featuring a local business — Dion’s — in Las Cruces, NM. Now, to some Las Cruces might not seem local to El Paso. For me and my family though, we think that the 45-mile drive is well worth it for “The Best Pizza Ever”.

If you haven’t been to Dion’s you’re missing out.

Dion’s is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They have 25 restaurants; 20 in New Mexico, 2 in Texas, and 3 in Colorado.

Before the pandemic, my family and I would try to visit a new restaurant at least once a week. We were always looking to try something different! No matter where we went or what we tried, we always had our favorites that we would have to go back to time and again. Dion’s is definitely on that list. We are still cautious about where we go, or where we order from because today it’s usually only delivery, or takeout. As shown in the video, we’ve grown accustomed to eating in the car. I’m not sure when, or if we will ever feel 100% comfortable dinning out in public again. One of our sons has an underlying heart condition, and we were cautious before the pandemic. But it does seem pretty likely that we will be visiting Dion’s as much as we can going forward.

Our favorite pizza to order is — “The Special”

It has: Mushrooms, black olives, green chile, red onions, Italian sausage, ground beef, smoked ham & pepperoni.

As far as submarine sandwiches go, the bread alone at Dion’s is “bomb!”

Our favorite sub is — The “Pastrami & Provolone”

It has: Red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, deli mustard & served with side, pickle spear & homemade Greek dressing (although in the video I’ve posted we got a “Roast Beef & Provolone” with — Red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, deli mustard & served with side, pickle spear & homemade Greek dressing). It was still delicious!

Our favorite salad from Dion’s is — “The Ranch Salad”

It has: Fresh lettuce, pastrami, provolone, tomatoes, mix (diced cucumbers, red onions, & bell peppers), & croutons.

We have never tried anything that we didn’t like at Dion’s. In our family’s opinion they absolutely have the best pizza, salads, subs, and ranch! Traveling from El Paso To Las Cruces for us is a 90-mile round trip for “family pizza night” and we’ll do it again and again.
