Southern California is littered with great burger places. That will probably never change, but vegan burger options are growing in popularity.

Ten years ago, it was hard to find a decent vegan burger. Today there are great options all over Los Angeles

The increase in vegan restaurants is heavily correlated with the improved quality of the food. Back in the day, vegan meat tasted like cardboard. But today the taste is continually improving.

One place that perfectly illustrates how far vegan food has come is L.A.’s own Vurger Guyz.

Vurger Guyz

Burger Guyz’s mission started in 2018 when four former NCAA athletes decided to start a restaurant. The four friends all take health very seriously, and all believe deeply in the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.

Vurger Guyz set out to provide a healthy alternative to standard street food. They also hope to show that plant-based eating doesn’t have to sacrifice taste.

They are soo confident that you will like their food that they offer a “One Bite Warranty.” If you take one bite and don’t like it, your meal is free.

The Food

Vurgers

One of the best parts of the menu is the diversity. You wouldn’t expect vegan food to provide a lot of variety, but Vurger Guyz pulls it off.

For breakfast, you can order their “Sunnyside Breakfast.” It’s a toasted everything bagel with vegan eggs, vegan American cheese, and a vegan breakfast patty.

If you’re looking for something closer to a classic cheeseburger, the “Classic Vurger” is a great option.

Cheesesteak fans should give the “Cheesesteak Vurger” a try.

Tacos

While vegan burgers are growing in popularity, vegan tacos aren’t nearly as common. The tacos at Vuger Guyz might change that trend.

The “Street Taco” with plant-based meat, guacamole, and pico de gallo is much better than you might expect.

Sides & Desserts

Of course, no burger place would be complete without fries. You can choose between regular or sweet potato fries. They also serve tater tots.

They serve fried Oreos, an Oreo Sunday, and vegan ice cream for dessert.
