Venice is one of the most beautiful parts of California. The weather is perfect nearly year-round. It’s popular with locals and tourists alike.

No great visit to Venice is complete without some great food.

Here are four restaurants that are worth a try.

De Buena Planta

Mexican restaurants in Southern California are a dime a dozen. Vegetarian Mexican places are a lot rarer.

De Buena Planta manages to make meatless tacos that taste every bit as good as the real thing. They also have an extensive cocktail menu to enjoy with your meal.

Monday: Closed

Tuesday — Friday: 4 pm- 10 pm

Saturday & Sunday: 11 am- 10 pm

Address: 1118 Abbot Kinney Blvd Venice, CA 90291

Charcoal Venice

The idea behind Charcoal Venice was inspired by Josiah Citrin’s memories of backyard barbecues with his family. As you can probably guess by the name, everything is cooked over charcoal or coals.

The menu is seasonal, with locally-sourced proteins and vegetables. They serve everything from grilled chicken wings to dry-aged Porterhouses. Of course, they also have a wide beer and cocktail menu to wash it all down with.

Dinner Hours:

Monday — Tuesday: Closed

Wednesday — Thursday: 6 pm- 9 pm

Friday — Saturday: 5:30 pm- 10pm

Sunday: 6 pm- 9 pm

Address: 425 Washington Blvd. Venice, CA 90292

Hinano Cafe

A juicy burger and a cold beer are perfect ways to cap any day at the beach. Hinano Cafe has been serving great burgers and cold beer since 1962. Restaurants don’t enjoy that kind of longevity without serving high-quality food.

They have plenty of TVs, making it a great place to watch a football game. Come by Monday through Friday 4–8 for Happy Hour.

Daily: 8 am- 12 am

Address: 15 Washington Blvd Venice, CA 90292

Phone: (310) 822–3902

The culinary traditions of Italy inspired Felix. They combine those great additions with California-grown ingredients from family farms.

Felix’s pizza and handmade pasta are top-notch. Be ready to make several return trips to make it through the extensive pasta menu
