What comes to mind when you think about Hawaii?

The chances are that laid-back island vibes, friendly people, beautiful weather, and great food all come to mind.

Every one of those things also fits Venice perfectly. It should come as no surprise that a full-on tiki-lounge would succeed in Venice.

Belles Beach House opened on October 19th, and it’s already looking like a huge success.

Belles Beach House

Belles Beach House is the brainchild of seasoned restaurateur Nick Mathers and the Wish You Were Here Group. They aim to give guests the full Island experience right here in Venice Beach.

While eating at Belles, it’s easy to forget you are in California and not Hawaii. Belles has an impressive covered patio bar, an indoor restaurant, as well as an alfresco dining area. Regardless of which area you choose to eat in, you won’t be disappointed.

Menu

The menu is a unique blend of Hawaiian with a Japanese influence.

Belles’s selection of sushi rolls is very popular, and their Lobster Taco Roll is one of my favorites. Their Sushi Platter is perfect for sharing with friends and family.

If you are looking for something heavier to eat, they have other options as well. Burger lovers will appreciate their Teriyaki Cheeseburger or Fried Chicken Burger. The Wagyu Steak was also a pleasant surprise.

Belles also has a great list of craft Tiki Cocktails and a tasty wine list. Their Mai Tais are delicious, but I personally prefer their Moscow Mule or Old Fashioned. They also have non-alcoholic “mocktails” for those of you that don’t drink alcohol.
