Fatal motorcycle collision in Boyle Heights

On Monday at 6:22 pm a fatal motorcycle crash was reported at 3146 E Olympic Blvd near E 7th St & Hollins St.

A Citizen app user shows video of a damaged motorcycle on the sidewalk due to a crash.

Emergency Medical Services at the scene have reported a person pronounced deceased from the collision.

Police have closed traffic on S Boyle Ave and 7th St. to address the scene.

Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in LA

Fatal motorcycle occurrences have occurred frequently in 2021, though comparison statistics for 2020 and 2021 are not currently available.

Accordin to California’s office of traffic safety, motorcycle fatalities decreased 9.4% from 523 in 2018 to 474 in 2019. Motorcyclist deaths from not wearing a helmet decreased 18% from 34 in 2018 to 28 in 2019.
