If you can’t take a trip to Italy right now and enjoy authentic cuisine and wine, you only have to travel to Armani’s Cucina in Vero Beach located at 1920 14th Ave. Treasure Coast Culinary Tours is coordinating a “Tour of Italy” food and wine pairing event on Tuesday, February 22nd at 6pm.
This special event is designed to take you out of culinary comfort zone and dine on a variety of Italian delicacies. A carefully curated 5-course meal has been developed by Angelina Poggia, the owner the restaurant.
The first course is grilled octopus over potato and white bean salad. They are known for sourcing the freshest seafood and the consistency of the octopus is delicate and tender. The second course is pear and gorgonzola Fiocchi. It’s a beggar’s purse pasta stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and crisp pear in a creamy alfredo sauce. The third course is beef short ribs over risotto. The fourth course is salmon carpaccio delicately laced with capers and drizzled in the finest Italian olive oil. The fifth and final course is limoncello tiramisu paired with homemade limoncello.
The first four courses will be paired with a different wine from their collection. On hand to teach everyone about the wines will be a sommelier from the wine import company Angelina works with. Angelina and her daughter, Tara Banks, have designed an invitingly warm restaurant. As you feast on the sumptuous cuisine and sip the delicious wines, you’ll be ensconced in a cozy ambiance which makes for an ideal date night or outing with close friends. This event will be an event to be remembered for a long time.
