Southeast Baltimore County Teen Killed in Crash

We send our thoughts and prayers to Sean Ruffin's family, the 19-year old who died in a motor vehicle accident on April 6, 2021.

The Baltimore County teen and Patapsco High School graduate was one of two people in the vehicle, in which he was the passenger. The driver, 19-year old José Octavio Lizarraga Rosa, was in serious condition but has since returned home.

Maryland State troopers responded to a call shortly before 4:15 am, where an accident had occurred on northbound MD 295 at West Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights.

The preliminary investigation stated that a 2018 Toyota Camry was driving in the left lane when the driver was unable to control the vehicle. The reasoning for the lack of vehicle control is still unknown. The car drove off to the right onto a grassy portion of the roadway and collided with a tree.

Ruffin was pronounced dead on the scene.

Maryland State Police reported that both the driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The cause and crash remain under investigation.

On Thursday evening, a vigil was held to remember the life of Sean. The gathering was unable to be held at Patapsco High School. Therefore, people gathered at Gray Manor Park to remember the teen.

Sean was a huge presence in the Dundalk community and was loved by everyone who knew him. He played football for his high school team, and his work ethic was unmatched.

His team says they will retire his #13 jersey.

Sean will be missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Kaczorowski Funeral Home (1201 Dundalk Ave, Baltimore, MD 21222).

A GoFundMe for Sean's family has been created to help cover the family's cost during this heartbreaking time.
