Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen Celebrating 20th Anniversary on Nov. 9

In 2002, business partners Rick Freedman and Doug Stanton moved from Portland to Sedona in search of a dryer climate. The red rocks of Sedona suited them perfectly, but there was just one problem. The town had no good pizza. The two were custom home builders by profession, but one day over lunch they decided they should open a gourmet pizza restaurant. Over the past 20 years, Picazzo’s has evolved to become a healthy Italian restaurant with a focus on vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and allergy-friendly options and expanded to include restaurants in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Arrowhead, Tempe, and Gilbert.

On Wednesday, November 9, Picazzo’s will celebrate their 20th anniversary at all six locations with specials, giveaways, and fun photo ops. That day, the first 20 guests at each location (over age 18) to dine in the restaurants will receive a $20 Picazzo’s gift card. Picazzo’s Healthy Hour happy hour specials on food and drinks will be available all day long (11 a.m. – 8 p.m.) and guests are invited to snap a photo at Picazzo’s that day and tag Picazzo’s in an Instagram post for a chance to win a $200 Picazzo’s gift card (See store for promotion details).

The restaurant sources 95% organic produce, and makes sauces and dressings from scratch, using organic spices and non-GMO sunflower and imported olive oils. In addition to the main menu, Picazzo’s also offers a separate 100% vegan menu with salads, entrées, pasta, pizza, and desserts, using brands that support the plant-based diet, such as Follow Your Heart, Daiya and Beyond Meat.
