I tried another hot chicken restaurant in Long Beach and this is what I thought...

If you haven't heard of Nashville Hot Chicken, you don't know what you are missing. It is fried chicken, chicken tenders or boneless chicken that has been battered and deep fried. Then it is dipped in a oil containing chili spices then dusted with more chili powder. The chili powders have different heat levels ranging from Chicken? to Call the Morgue!

Long Beach has joined the hot chicken game and now has several chicken joints where you can get a really good meal. I recently tried Cluck and Blaze and they lived up to the hype. The chicken was tender and the crunchy exterior was crisp and flavorful. Now, to be fair, I like spicy. However, I don't like it when it is so spicy I cannot taste my food. Cluck and Blaze mild aka "You can do better", was spicy enough to feel a kick but not so spicy that I didn't enjoy my food. Next time I'll try the medium, (aka Better!).

The photo above is of their "Side Chicken" Sandwich. It is made of a tender, comeback sauce, slaw, pickles and I added a egg, which in my opinion made the sandwich. I ate the entire thing in maybe 3 bites. It was so good.

I also tried their tenders. They are big! And they are real tenders. Not breast meat sliced into strips. This makes a huge difference in the texture. Again, they were super crispy and I dipped in the comeback sauce and a side of ranch.

We also tried the Nashville Hot Breakfast Burrito. It has chicken tenders, eggs, cheese and tater tots. Its served with a side of comeback sauce. This was my favorite out of everything we tried. It has great textures and everything goes so well together. A huge flavor bomb! And best of all, it heated wonderfully wrapped in aluminum foil in my air fryer.

I really enjoyed Cluck & Blaze. The service was great. The food was great and it was reasonable priced! With two locations definitely add Cluck & Blaze to your "must go to" lists!
