4 New Restaurant Openings you need to know about!

Don't repeat that restaurant! These 4 are brand new and notable in Los Angeles. The theme is comfort food.

Fixins Soul Kitchen (DTLA)

This is the second Fixins Soul Kitchen following the original's success in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood. The restaurant was founded by former NBA All-Star and Mayor of Sacramento Kevin Johnson “KJ” and his wife, Michelle. The restaurant pays homage to the soul food KJ grew up with and celebrates African-American culture.

Menu highlights include dishes like Chicken and Waffles and Shrimp and Grits with all the "fixins" like Collard Greens and Candied Yams. I'm excited to get my hands on some Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs and an Adult Kool-Aid.

Fixins Soul Kitchen is located at L.A. Live Hours of operation are Sunday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Fridays, Saturdays, and Game Days from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Make your reservations here.

Rooz (West Hollywood)

Rooz, a new modern Persian-Mediterranean eatery, will be hosting a three-day pop-up at the Soho House in West Hollywood. Rooz is a healthy-fast casual concept from female entrepreneur Natasha Firoozi. She could never find the Persian flavors she was looking for on the go, so she crafted her own contemporary version of traditional Persian restaurants. Must-haves include Saffron Chicken Kabobs and Plant-Based Persian Meatballs.

Rooz is located at the Soho House, and the pop-up takes place from October 21st to the 24th from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Make your reservations on the Soho House App (Members Only).

Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles (Mid City)

Roscoe's has been serving up the sublime Chicken and Waffles combination for 46 years now, and October 20th, 2021, has been officially declared Roscoe’s National Chicken & Waffles Day. They will be celebrating by pursuing more philanthropic efforts through Roscoe’s Motivation For Change Foundation and serving up a new menu item at their latest location on La Brea.

The Waffle Tender™ will be available at select locations only for a limited time. The new restaurant at 1865 South La Brea Avenue will be open shortly with hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Flower Burger(WeHo)

Flower Burger, the plant-based eatery from Italy, will be opening its first brick and mortar location on Thursday, October 21st! They have been serving standouts like the Chick Pea Burger and the Cherry-Bomb out of a ghost kitchen in Culver City for the past year. The bun colors come from natural ingredients like spirulina and cherry extract.

To celebrate the opening, free mini-burgers will be served all day, and there will be a live DJ on site.

Flower Burger is open Sunday to Thursday from 1130 a.m. to 1030 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 1130 a.m. to midnight. Delivery from your favorite apps is also available
