Burke-Gilman Trail – Its easier to get in fresh air with such beautiful parks in Seattle

The Burke Gilman trail, while it can get crowded in the summer, is a great way to zoom around the city while getting some exercise. Start at Ballard downtown and walk along Market street toward Ballard Locks. Visit the Locks and surrounding nice park - it will take one hour or less. Then continue on Gilman trail as long as you like. We usually leaving trail in 20 min bearing left on Sea view Ave, to be close to the Sound. You will walk/cycle approximately 30 min more along the marina full of yachts toward Golden gate park and beach. On the way back you can have nice lunch or dinner and Ray's boathouse cafe with great water views. Only negative if riding your road bike, the roots under the pavement sometimes of the year make it quite a bumpy ride. Upkeep is difficult. Otherwise, you can't beat the beauty of the Seattle area and the trail system.
