Point Robinson Park – time spent at the beach is never wasted for me!

A quintessential Vashon Island landmark, the lighthouse at Point Robinson is a good place to learn about the island's history and ecology. There are signs from the main road to direct you to Maury Island and to the park. There is lots of drift wood on the beach and you have a beautiful view across the sound where you can see the town of Des Moines. The lighthouse is a short hike downhill. The building has not been open when we've visited, but we enjoy walking along the beach, climbing the piles of driftwood, and enjoying views of the sound and wildlife. On the weekends they now have a gift shop run out of what seems to be an old garage. The shop is run by volunteers.
