Tasty Eye-Catching Super Bowl Snack Recipes for Super Bowl Sunday

If you are like most of us, we are always looking for a bit of something different to bring as your contribution to the table at your Super Bowl Party. Every year it seems I tend to bring the same thing, Queso Dip, Spicy Chicken Wings, Chips and Salsa with Guacamole. Last year we did Lobster Roll Sliders, which was a real winner (recipe to follow later).

I came across these innovative recipes and thought these will be absolute winners so I thought I would share my contributions for this year’s Super Bowl table with you. Be sure and let me know what you think.

Pull Apart Mozzarella Sticks

1 block Mozzarella cheese, sliced almost to the bottom

Frying oil

1 cup marinara sauce

  1. Heat frying oil in a heavy bottomed pot to 375 degrees
  2. Carefully add mozzarella to hot oil and fry until golden brown
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and let cool on paper towels
  4. Serve with marinara sauce

Colorful Popcorn

1 cup popcorn kernels

1/4c oil

1 bag Skittles

  1. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pot; add 1-2 popcorn kernels
  2. When the first kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn kernels and Skittles
  3. Shake vigorously until kernels start to pop, then reduce heat and wait until there are 2 seconds between each pop
  4. Remove from heat and enjoy!

Avocado Fries

2 ripe avocados, sliced into quarters

1 cup flour

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs

Oil for frying

  1. Dredge sliced avocado in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs
  2. Heat frying oil in a heavy bottomed pot
  3. When oil reaches 375 degrees, add avocado slices carefully and fry until golden brown
  4. Remove with a slotted spoon and let cool on paper towels before eating

Easy Oreo Cake Pops

1 sleeve Oreos

1 cup cream cheese

2 cups melted white chocolate

Melted dark/milk chocolate (for garnish)

  1. Crush a sleeve of Oreos using a rolling pin
  2. Combine crushed Oreos and cream cheese in a large bowl until a dough begins to form
  3. Roll dough mixture into golf ball shaped spheres
  4. Insert toothpick and dip ball into melted white chocolate
  5. Repeat until all dough is used
  6. Freeze for 30 minutes
  7. Drizzle with extra melted chocolate and enjoy!

Chocolate Rose Cookies
