New research highlights the connection between chronic pain, dementia, and brain shrinking. The researchers found that people with dementia reported slightly more chronic pain as long as 16 years before the dementia diagnosis, as well as increasing pain intensity over the years, as compared to people who did not develop dementia.

Chronic pain and fatigue go hand in hand, and there is a very good reason for this. It's not because of a lack of sleep, stress, medications, of a lack of exercise, or any of the other common beliefs. Although these can all contribute to chronic fatigue, there is something much more prevalent at the root of these two conditions.

The most sensible way to help this is to go to your doctor so that they can help you find the source of your pain and treat it. But it doesn’t happen like this. Doctors of conventional medicine don’t take the time nor do they seem to have the skillset to actually get to know you and find the actual sources of your pain. Instead they confirm that you are in pain and prescribe you with pain management medication. They start with ibuprofen and Tylenol and work up from there. Most things work to a degree before they stop working and you need something else. Pain medications are only designed to dampen the pain signal going to your brain. They don’t actually stop the pain signals from forming because they aren’t treating anything.

It's a real chicken and the egg situation. It's not always clear which came first, but one causes the other which worsens the other. A vicious cycle that often cannot be broken by conventional routes of medicine.

The most ignored treatment for chronic pain is your diet. What you eat can either be the medicine that helps you regain your health or it can be the greatest source of disease. When it comes to fighting chronic pain and inflammation, there is no better nutrient than omega-3 fatty acids.

Disclosure: There are no medical studies to back this information. A search for "opioid deficiency" does not produce any literture on the topic. This informtion is purely common medical knowledge for any doctor because your body does not make synthetic opioids, nor are they found in nature and required for survival, and therefore, you cannot be deficient in them.

There are some misconceptions about what natural medicine really is. To some it means treating the same condition with herbs and spices instead of pharmaceuticals. To others it means using supplements.

It was unfortunate, but it happens. I fell, tried to grab on to a rail as I went down, missed, hit my jaw on the rail instead. Whatcha gonna do 🤷🏻‍♂️. Go to the hospital is the correct answer because despite the minimal pain I fractured my right mandibular condyle as confirmed by CT scan. I wish I had the scan to show you but this is where the fracture was at.

Possibly the worst part of living with any chronic condition is the optimism that the next new drug or injection will be the one that finally works. That finally gets you out of pain and gives you your life back. While optimism may be the only thing that's keeping you going it can be a losing game with conventional medicine. Hold on to your optimism, keep looking for new solutions because one is out there. Just know it won't be the next new miracle drug, and here is why.

It depends who you ask. If you ask the internet, or doctors of conventional medicine, the answer is “no.” This is why they say so…. I had to stop writing for a second to actually look up the definition, which was just completely bonkers to me. A cure is “to be relieved of the symptoms of a disease or condition.” The symptoms… Forget about the disease or condition and what is causing it, we just need you to be symptom free for a victory. Wow. Forget the fact that something is still causing damage to your body, medicine won.
