New breakfast restaurant moving into Jacksonville’s OakLeaf Town Center

Keke’s Breakfast Cafe will be moving into the retail space that once housed Panera Bread in the OakLeaf Town Center.

Panera Bread has already moved into its new restaurant space in the town center near Jimmy Hula’s.

OakLeaf Town Center is located in the southwestern portion of Jacksonville, just west of Orange Park in the Oakleaf Plantation area. The area straddles the county boundary between Duval and Clay counties.

The town center is anchored by a SuperTarget, Kohl’s and Home Depot.

Residents in Oakleaf Plantation have been unhappy with the lack of sit-down restaurants in the area and have frequently expressed their frustrations on Facebook. The news was met with mostly positive comments by area residents on the “What’s Coming to Oakleaf Plantation area” Facebook page.

“So excited! Keke’s is amazing,” wrote Beth Lohmus Wilkins.

“Okay! Oakleaf is finally moving in the right direction,” wrote Tammy Thomas.

“Yes, we’ve been wanting a good breakfast place,” wrote Brianna Robinson.

Keke’s promotes itself with this phrase: “It’s like your hometown diner grew up and went to the city.”

Keke’s is described as a “local chain serving American breakfasts and comfort-food lunches in a modern diner with booth seating.”
