Shades State Park Back-Country Tour: Best Beginner/Family Backpack Experience

If you are looking for a beginner backpacking experience there is none better than Shades State Park in Mid-Western Indiana. It is only about 2.25 miles and once you are there you are treated to some great amenities! Picnic tables, fire rings, wood for purchase, fantastic vault toilets, water and trash cans. There is also a canoe/kayak campground offering a place to camp for those into paddling Sugar Creek! Those sites are a bit... unused but still provide a decent place to camp. let me know if you have any questions about the sites in the comments and I will try to help. We have a lot more hiking/backpacking adventure videos. You can find them on our Youtube Channel. Subscribe to our YouTube channel: DMS Adventures.
