Could The Wheelhouse Diner's Future Be In Danger?

Dianna Carney

The Wheelhouse Diner, which has been serving the Quincy community for 75 years, recently revealed in a social media post that they had received a notice asking them to vacate the premises. The full announcement, made via Facebook on Sunday, November 19, 2023, stated:

"UPDATE: Few weeks ago I recieved a" Notice to Quit" from the property owner's attorney . Politely asking me to vacate the premises by December 1st or they will continue with court proceedings. I politely decline and will wait for a court order. I have no intention of making it easy to get rid of us nor will I go quietly. Thank you for everyone's love a ND support. Really means the world to us!"

The post was quickly met with over a hundred reactions within the hour it was posted. One fan of the local establishment asked what the community could do to help, to which the diner stated, "the response is a huge help. Making noise is a huge help". Another comment asked how this would impact customers of the diner, to which The Wheelhouse Diner responded with their hours of operation, assuring the public that for now, their doors will be staying open.

This is a developing story. For the most up-to-date information about The Wheelhouse Diner, visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/wheelhousedinerquincy.
