(TAUNTON, MA) The Rotary Club of Taunton, a local organization that has been serving the Greater Taunton community for over 100 years, has recently awarded five $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors from local high schools!
The Rotary Club tasked its Scholarship Committee with the challenge of reviewing nineteen applications and selecting only five students. The Rotary Club of Taunton has unique criteria for awarding scholarships, as they “strive to make as big a difference as we can” and honor the Rotary motto of "Service above Self". After a careful review of each application, the committee announced the recipients of the 2023 scholarships:
- Jacob Brennan, Taunton High School
- Alexa Brueggeman, Taunton High School
- Sayla DePina, Taunton, High School
- Victoria Hart, Taunton High School
- Avery LaValle, Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School
According to the Rotary Club of Taunton, "it was a pleasure reading all of the applications," and they are honored to celebrate this year's scholarship recipients for their "good work." These scholarships are sure to help these students as they embark on the next chapter of their journey.
"Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves." - Rotary Club of Taunton
