The Kowloon Restaurant, a community favorite located in Saugus, Massachusetts, has officially opened its outdoor dining venue for the 2023 season as of May 17th. The dreamy setting under paper lanterns and the fresh air of summer is the perfect backdrop for live music and delicious food, whether it’s a night out with friends or a romantic dinner with a loved one!

The restaurant was established by the Wong Family in the 1950s under the name The Mandarin House. In 1958, Madeline and Bill Wong purchased the restaurant from the original owners, beginning the second generation of family ownership and renaming it Kowloon Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge.

Since then, the business has expanded and increased its seating capacity from 50 customers to 1200. In 2001, Madeline and Bill Wong were inducted into the Hospitality Hall of Fame by the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. Kowloon is now operated by the third generation of the Wong family.
