West Barnstable Fire Department Welcomes 20 New Volunteer Firefighters

(WEST BARNSTABLE, MASSACHUSETTS) The West Barnstable Fire Department has welcomed twenty new volunteer firefighters to their team! The group, known as the WBFD Class of 2024, started their training on the evening of Thursday, April 6th at the fire station.
Support From The Community
The local Cape Cod fire department shared the exciting news with the community via a social media post that quickly gained traction, receiving over 200 reactions from the public. One local wrote, "I see a few familiar faces! Way to go guys!" Another stated, "Congratulations….you are joining a progressive department with great leadership!"
The WBFD Class of 2024
This latest group of volunteers consists of 20 men and women who are eager to serve their community. They are Haider Nazir, Cameron McCormack, Andrew Riley, Kourtney Sassone, Nathaniel Taddia, Heather Malkani, Matthew Eveland, Anthony Iachetta, Wayne MacDonald, Shawn Haislet, Daniel Salvatore, Derren Eaton, Abigail Hall, Brianna Hall, Azaiya White, Shane Ryder, John Schofield, Abigail Moloney, and Jill Albanese. One member, Robert Runci, was not shown in the photo.
Who Is The West Barnstable Fire Department?
The West Barnstable Fire District was established in 1949 and is one of five independent fire districts in the Town of Barnstable on Cape Cod. It serves an area of about 13.5 square miles and a year-round population of 3,500, as well as Cape Cod Community College with 6,000 students.
