(PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS) The restaurant space formerly occupied by Isaac's on Plymouth Harbor officially has a new name: 71° West

The announcement was made on Instagram after the local establishment 42 Degrees North Restaurant & Lounge had revealed on their own social media pages that the name reveal would be made during the evening of Friday, February 3rd.

"While the longitude-based name is meant to complement its sister restaurant across town, the latitude of 42° North, you can expect a completely different and unique concept, design and menu at 71° West. Here, we will be all about harborside steaks and seafood with amazing panoramic views of Plymouth’s historic waterfront…and a special emphasis on the steak component." - Haynes Restaurant Group

Who Acquired 71° West Space?

In October 2022, the local establishment 42 Degrees North Restaurant & Lounge announced after "lots of swirling rumors" they had "acquired the restaurant space formerly occupied by Isaac's on Plymouth Harbor and construction is underway!" The waterfront restaurant had become a part of the Hynes Restaurant Group family.

The popular restaurant revealed that "this specific restaurant has history for us as Hynes Restaurant Group founder Kevin Hynes was the original owner of Isaac's (along with two partners) when it was first built in 1990, before selling his stake several years later to focus on other projects."

42 Degrees North Restaurant & Lounge, another Hynes Restaurant Group location, got its name due to its location. The restaurant explains, "we are located at 41.9186 Degrees North latitude, a parallel that runs around the globe and directly through Manomet, Massachusetts. But who would ever name a restaurant 41.9186 Degrees North? So, we rounded up!"

When Will 71° West Open?

In October 2022, it was announced that the anticipated opening date would be in the Spring of 2023. The Facebook post stated, "We are excited to return decades later to the same spot at 114 Water Street on the beautiful and historic Plymouth waterfront! We anticipate an opening date in spring of 2023."
