(MENDON, MA) Southwick's Zoo has announced the date of its annual Harvest Fest for 2022, this year taking place on Sunday, October 23rd! This fun family event is expected to feature the same exciting and entertaining activities from past years' Harvest Fest, such as live music, local vendors and makers, a craft market, and much more!

What is Southwick's Zoo?

Southwick's Zoo is located in the heart of the Blackstone River Valley. It's just minutes away from Routes 495 and 146, is about 1-hour from Boston. Spanning over 200 acres, Southwick's Zoo is "New England's largest zoological experience."

What first began as a dairy and vegetable farm in the early to mid-1900s has blossomed into a zoo that is now home to over 850 animals. It all began when the founder of the wildlife park, Justin Southwick, found his passion for collecting "exotic birds and fancy poultry." Over time his collection began attracting visitors from all over, which Southwick to officially open as a Zoo in 1963.

How to Become a Vendor for Southwick's Zoo Harvest Fest

Southwick's Zoo has announced they are "looking for craft and farmers market vendors to attend the 2022 Harvest Fest at Southwick’s Zoo!" The family-owned zoo invites anyone interested in applying to become a Harvest Fest Vendor to fill out the form on their website:

Please note that "vendors are responsible for bringing their own tent, table, and chairs" and that "vendors can not request specific spaces." This event is taking place "in conjunction with the Festival of Illumination" which means space is limited, therefore Southwick's Zoo will be "assigning vendors to available spaces and notifying everyone of these details closer to Harvest Fest."
