(DUXBURY, MA) "The Duxbury Camera Club has partnered with the Duxbury Senior Center to open a new gallery in the first floor Library at the Duxbury Senior Center." stated a Facebook post on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
The Duxbury Camera Club is a group of "enthusiastic photographers from Duxbury and surrounding towns" that meet regularly to share thoughts, ideas, experiences, and of course their photographs.
Monthly meetings normally feature a presentation by a prominent photographer. The club welcomes members of all experience levels, and paid membership includes (but is not limited to):
- Monthly meetings
- Focus groups
- Gallery shows
The photography club invites the public to attend one free monthly meeting to get a feel for the club. Membership cost ranges from $40 for an individual and $60 for a family membership (includes you, your spouse, and children over 18 living in the same household). The Duxbury Camera Club also offers a fee-free membership for students who are in high school or college.
To become a member, you're invited to reach out via online request, and a representative from the club will get in touch.
Monthly meetings are usually held in the "Merry Room" at the Duxbury Free Library, on the first Wednesday of every month (except July & August). The Camera Club does note that when pandemic restrictions are in effect monthly meetings will be moved to Zoom. Members will receive the zoom link via email. Members of the public who would like to join the club for a monthly meeting are invited to contact the club via its website at www.duxburycameraclub.org
The new gallery opening on the first-floor Library at the Duxbury Senior Center will feature selected photographs from some of the Duxbury Camera Club members. Photographs are expected to rotate every 3-4 months. All works of art are for sale, and prices will be displayed next to each photograph.
Stop by the Gallery at the Senior Center, open Monday through Thursday from 8 to 5, and Friday from 8 to 12 noon. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
