The Duxbury Free Library has reopened to the public as of Monday, July 25th at 2 PM!
The library was closed for over three weeks to repair damage from flooding that occurred in February. Repairs included replacing the carpet in the Children's Room, as seen below.
During the library's repairs, it remained open for hold picks, printing, and summer reading books. The library had also postponed all due dates and announced that no fines would accrue during the closure.
Now reopened, the library has packed its calendar with free activities for the whole family. Kicking off the fun-filled week is a visit from Hodge Podge, a giant walking puppet, who will be hanging out with the community outside the library on Tuesday, the 26th at 2:30 PM!
On Thursday, July 28th the Duxbury Free Library invites the community to a unique and creative activity- a "Stuffed Friend Sleepover"! This imaginative event invites your child to bring a stuffed friend in at 2 PM for a fun-filled sleepover at the library! With help of library staff, your child will assist in making their stuffed friend a blanket, and read them a bedtime story. At the end of the event, your child will say their goodbyes to their stuffed friend and then pick them up the next day! This event encourages independence and is sure to be fun!
Other events during the reopening week include a family movie night, story times, and even one-on-one reading with a BONES-certified pup named Sally! To see a full list of events please see the photo below or click here to be redirected to The Duxbury Free Library's event calendar.
