The United States Small Business Association (SBA) is currently seeking nominations for the 2022 National Small Business Week Awards. These awards recognize the achievements and contributions of SBA-assisted small businesses around the country, with some awards specific to New Mexico.
This is an opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members from all 50 states and U.S. territories that are working to grow small businesses, create 21st century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America’s global competitiveness.
In recognizing the changing face of America, the SBA’s National Small Business Week awards honor individuals and businesses that reflect our nation’s rich diversity.
Any New Mexico small business that has received some type of assistance from the Small Business Association and that meets certain requirements may apply for the award. Information on requirements and nomination forms can be found on the SBA website.
Categories include “Small Business Person of the Year,” “Exporter of the Year,” “Women’s Business Center of the Year” and “Small Business Development Center of the Year.”
Winners of the Small Business Person of the Year award from each state, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam will then compete for the title of National Small Business Person of the Year, SBA’s most coveted award.
Completed nomination forms for New Mexico small businesses can be uploaded through the New Mexico SBA District Office.
Deadline for submissions is 1:00pm MT on January 11, 2022. Winners will be announced some time in May 2022.
