Nightly Ghost Tours

Ghost Stories of Philadelphia offers nightly candlelit tours. On each of these trips guests walk through Independence National Park, Old City and Society Hill, in which spirits are said to lie in wait nearby haunted houses and graveyards. Guests will also hear tales about Philadelphia’s momentous sites such as Independence Hall, Washington Square, Powel House, City Tavern.

Tours are offered each night from March to November; from December through February, tours are only offered on weekend nights. Each trip runs from 75-90 minutes. Private tours are also available upon request. Tickets cost $24 per person for adults, and tickets cost $17 per child aged 4-12.

Special Programs

Ghosts of the Mansion Tour

This trip ventures inside Society Hill mansion with stops at the Strangers Burial Ground and other spooky sites nearby. The tour ends with a visit to one of two options: the Powel House or Physick House, known to be some of the most haunted places located in Society Hill.

Each trip runs from 75-90 minutes and takes place from May to November. Tickets cost $22 per person, and this tour is only suited for ages 13 and over.

Ghost Tour of the Haunted Olympia

This tour explores the eerie Cruiser Olympia from 1895. Since then, sailors have claimed the ship is cursed, and to the present day, ghost hunters still investigate its paranormal activity. Guests will tour the ship’s three decks, cabins, galley and step foot in the place where the vessel’s most infamous ghost, Gunner Johnson, has previously made appearances. Tickets cost $19 per person.

Group Tours

Throughout the year, group trips, the organization’s most popular program, are available for guests to explore Philadelphia’s past, folklore and hauntings derived from the book, Ghost Stories of Philadelphia, PA.
