Los Angeles is one of the largest cities in the United States of America. Whether you live there or are just visiting, you will find plenty of activities to do. It doesn’t matter what kind of person you are, or your personal taste, this city has something for you!

But some activities are quintessential Los Angeles, and you shouldn't miss out on those. We gathered a list with some ideas for you.

1. Bike On The Strand

If you are a fitness fan, this will be one of your favorite activities in Los Angeles. This 22-mile coastline starts at Roger State Beach, which makes it perfect for a long bike ride in the early morning when the sun is rising and you can hear the waves crashing on the shore.

This track is officially known as Marvin Braude Bike Trail. Besides the long walk, you can also find some of the friendliest pedestrians on your way, always ready for a casual chat — like all Angelenos are.

2. Walk Through the Venice Canals

Venice is famous for its canals, and a walk amongst them is one of Angeleno’s favorite activities. Venice feels like a completely different city, as it has a very unique atmosphere.

Arching pedestrian bridges, a group of cute little ducklings, charming beach houses, and many more little touches will amaze you while walking through this area.

However, you will need to discover the canals on foot, rather than sailing through them, unless you have your own non-motorized boat.

3. Watch a Movie In A Parking Lot

Such an American thing to do! And LA is no exception, especially if we consider that this is the city that has created some of the most famous movies in the world. If you live in Los Angeles, cinema will be part of your life: you will discuss the latest movies with your friends, you will know people who work in the industry, and you might get the occasional random encounter with a star in the grocery shop.

Even though the city is full of theatres, watching a movie in a parking lot is still a different, interesting program, that can be great fun whether you are alone, with friends or your other half.

4. Fly a Kite at the Korean Bell of Friendship

Friendship is one of the adventurous relations you can have in life, and in San Pedro, LA, you have a place to celebrate just that. There is a metallic bell and a pavilion donated by South Korea in memory of the country’s friendship with the United States.

Moreover, the place is perfect for flying a kite with your friends due to the persistent winds coming off from the seashore. What is also interesting is the fact that the bells at the Bell of Friendship only ring four times a year: Independence Day (July 4), National Liberation Day of Korea (August 15), September 17 to coincide with bell ringings around the country to celebrate Constitution week, and also on Korean-American Day (January 13).

5. Eat Like The Locals

Los Angeles in an excelent city for foodies. With the city’s obsession for health and fitness, you will notice that the food culture in LA is quite unique. There is an abundance of healthy places to eat, spanning all kinds of diets: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, paleo… or truly anything you can think of. Of course, you can also find more traditional American food, including some of the best burgers and shakes in the country.

Angelenos like to enjoy a nutritious meal on a terrace while taking in the sun that shines all year round.
