NASHVILLE, TN - The heavy power riff mixed with thick bass tones have been the signature of Nashville metal duo, Friendship Commander. Friendship Commander consists of vocalist and guitarist Buick Audra and bassist and drummer Jerry Roe. Friendship Commander is on their way in rising the hidden stories, the unspoken truth, and hidden names to the loudest volume.

Their lyrics mostly highlights stories about injustice, discrimination in society, self-preservation, and survival in rough yet respectable rhymes. The style was represented from their latest EP, Hold on to Yourself in April 2020, and two singles, Stonechild/Your Reign is Over released in October 2020. One of their song, Stonechild, tells about the assassination case of Stonechild Chiefstick, a Chippewa Cree who got shot by a police officer during the fireworks celebration in Poulsbo on July 3, 2019. Buick, the songwriter, was disturbed by the fact that the case slowly faded from media exposure, despite the rising protest from locals in the Poulsbo area.

The songwriting process also includes the community and local's perspective, putting the realness and empathic side.

Friendship Commander uses their music as a medium to speak about things that people mostly put barriers in or prohibited to discuss and encourage the community to be unafraid to express themselves despite labels and stigmas put in the society. The music should be the sound among the silence.

Friendship Commander is scheduled for their first show featuring Nashville's underground trio Yautja and Birmingham doom, Null on Thursday, August 19 at EXIT/IN. Tickets are available for sale at EXIT/IN website,
