NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville will host the 2022 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series outdoor game between the Nashville Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning on February 26, 2022, at the Nissan Stadium.
The 2022 NHL Stadium Series will be Nashville’s second appearance in a regular-season outdoor game, following the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, which became the second-highest attended game in League history with over 20,000 Predators fans traveling to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Making its first appearance, Tampa Bay will become the 27th NHL team to play an outdoor regular-season game.
“Tennessee is home to the best sports fans in the world, and we’re honored that Nashville has been chosen to host the 2022 NHL Stadium Series game this February,” Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said. “Smashville is ready to welcome thousands to Nissan Stadium and show hockey fans all that Music City has to offer.”
Nissan Stadium, located across the Cumberland River from Bridgestone Arena, will become the eighth football stadium and fifth NFL venue to host an NHL Stadium Series game. Nissan Stadium has been home to the Titans since it opened in 1999, and it has hosted numerous sporting events and concerts during that time.
The NHL’s broadcast partners for the 2021-22 season are ESPN, Turner Sports, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports, who will provide comprehensive coverage throughout the season.
Additional information about Nashville’s NHL Stadium Series game, including ticketing and broadcast information, will be released at a later date. Fans can sign up for news and information on all NHL events at NHL.com/events.
