MT. JULIET, TN - Citizens of Mt. Juliet will have a new service on their hands to communicate with Mt. Juliet's city officials. The service is called MJAlert powered by Rave/Smart911 application. MJAlert is available for free to all residents, and it's available for people to easily sign up for government notifications.

Public safety officials released MJAlert with the aim to send a direct alert, notification, and information if there is a hazardous situation around the city of Mt. Juliet. The community will receive the notification via text messages, and in that text message, they can find pieces of information about what happened and where the situation is currently happening.

Not only the residents will receive an alert for a potentially hazardous event, but also they will receive community information from the police department, fire department, parks department, city government, traffic impacts, or construction blasting.

There are three ways to sign up for the MJAlert program from the city officials. First is through the newly released MJAlert service via the Smart911 application. Community members can easily download Smart911 on Google Play or Apple App Store to their mobile devices and sign up for the MJAlert program. With the Smart911 app, you can receive targeted notifications based on your current location, including information from National Weather Services.

The residents can also sign up via the website by clicking right here. Through the website, they can customize what kind of notification they want to receive. The last way to sign up is via text message, by simply text "MJ" to phone number "67283".
